2 Broke Teachers - US!

We come from the family of education so we love children. We believe a great day of "picking" or salt air can cure just about anything! We believe in getting dirt under our nails and sand between our toes. We sit at tennis courts, golf courses, basketball gyms and in Sunday morning pews. We believe unsweet tea helps get you through the day. Our work can be hard, but our play is easy. We believe community begins around the kitchen table and on the front porch. We believe where family and friends linger so does love. We desire for every home to have a longer table and a longer porch.

We started under a carport - picking everywhere! We were the talk of the neighborhood so we opened a little booth at the Little River Flea Market (if that is what you call with the holes in the floor - which made sweeping easy!). That lasted a month. We rented a small hole in the wall building in Tabor City - still no electricty or water. But then we arrived (or thought we had) to another building with electricity!! We quickly out grew it and now we are located in a 10,000 + square foot building. All of this in 2 years. (We have now been open 3 years).

We trust in the Lord more than we trust in ourselves. We wear boots in the rain and flip flops in the sun. We find what is lovely amongst the rusty, chipped, and broken and believe beauty does rise from the ashes. We believe one’s word is worth more than one’s money. We believe “Y’all” is a proper noun. We say “Yes, Ma'am” and “Yes, Sir” and we teach our kiddos to do the same. We respect our elders, we respect our neighbors, and we respect one another.

We know life is messy and we know life is hard, but we also know that our God is bigger. He has shown us even the weeds can be beautiful... it is all in how we choose to see them.
